# Create an activity using an activity template

## Activities

Invoices, tasks, quotations and e-mails are all examples of what we within Novulo call: **Activities**.

Activities are documents that can be either uploaded or created using activity templates. To learn more about the activity template structure see this post: [Document generation: Activities and content blocks](https://community.novulo.com/t/document-generation-activities-and-content-blocks/200)

## How to create an Activity

You can create activities on many pages within Novulo. The central location where all of them are stored is:

> Application Maintenance \> Views \> _Activities_

From this central location you can manually create an activity, and it’s very similar to other pages with activity overviews.

1. Use one of the buttons in the top right to create your activity.  

2. [Optionally] Choose a template  

3. Change the description (if required)  

4. Change direction _(this is a required field in some of the activity types, and your template fill this in automatically)_

5. Click “Save”
