# How do I upload products with different property columns?

Hey Bas,

According to your description, you are searching for a solution to store product properties that apply to some products, but not to all products.  
Adding a new column for every possible product property will result in many columns at the product table, plus most properties won’t apply to a product.  
For example, I can imagine that you don’t want to bother filling in the ‘rotating mass’ property for any other product than that small set of home trainers.

Therefore, I would recommend a “Question + answer” set up for this problem.  
The question would be ‘rotating mass’ in your case, and the answer would depend on the home trainer. Like 5kg or 10kg for example.

The easiest data model that I know of which would help you in that specific case, is that of component M8838 “Novulo Product properties based on product group”.  
It allows you to define a set of default questions for a product group. You could add the questions ‘rotating mass’ and ‘color’ to the ‘home trainer’ product group, for example. Then, for every home trainer product that you link to that group, you can define a specific answer/product property.

To come back to your initial question:

1. Configure or import the questions and the product groups first.
2. Link all products to the right product group
3. Then create an import for the answer record.
