Get Started with Novulo Finance module

For the complete order proces from order till invoicing we want to configure the finance model. We already use the instruction url: vimeo.com/647310749/7585a432bf. What are needs to be done more, so that the finance and journals will work in a correct way? What is correct finance set-up? Think about the correct ledger accounts etc.

The configuration needed for order processing until invoicing can vary depending on the composition of the application. If you’ve followed the instruction video, I can imagine you are already able to create invoices? Could you elaborate on which processes already function for you, and which don’t yet?

In order to create journal entries for your invoices, you’ll want to at least have the following settings:

  • An administration, including an accounting year and a journal
  • Ledger accounts (usually the customer already has a scheme for their ledger accounts)
  • Journal entry schemes (or sometimes called journal entry plans) to set which ledger accounts should be used for which processes (i.e. Sales of products with scheme A should go to ledger account 8000) and set these at the correct products

Again, the required settings really depend on the specifics of the business process and I’m giving a really simplified list here.

If you install the dataset “Basis Inrichting Novulo - N_Grootboekadministratie - Basis GBA”, you’ll find that the most general settings have been added as an example for you (administration, journals, ledger accounts), but you still need to add the current accounting year and a journal entry scheme.
