I’m looking for advice on the best practices for exporting and importing activity templates within Novulo. Specifically, I want to ensure that the process is efficient, minimizes errors, and preserves all necessary data and configurations.
For the distribution of (e.g.) activity templates there are several basic datasets available in Deployment.
These can be found from All apps → Data sets → Data sources. In the overview the column ‘Is for distribution’ can be added and filtered on 1, yes ot true.
Find the data source named ‘Verspreiding - activiteitsjablonen’ and open the dataset ‘Export voor activiteitsjablonen’. Add a subscription for the desired application. In the Subscription grid select the correct application and click ‘Send newest N/A version to installation’.
The installation will be opened and from here the dataset can be send to the required application.
After installation the export can be found through All apps → Export → Export definitions. Search for ‘[Basis][Ind] Export individueel Activiteitsjabloon’. At the Parameters open the parameter for ‘sjablonen’ and add the id of the activity template that needs to be exported between the ‘([…])’ at Default value.
At the export definition click on ‘Export’. The export can now be imported in the desired application.
Datasets intended for distribution are maintained, but it may happen that some fields are not present in your application.
You will need to remove these fields from the dataset.
This must be done in both the export dataset and the import definition.
If your application is ahead and contains fields that are not included in the dataset, you will need to make a copy.
This copy can then be edited. Adding fields is only possible in a ‘non-distributed’ dataset.
