Reference Determination overwrite existing

I have configured a reference determination for an insured object based on answers on that object. However, when creating a new object there is a pop-up that asks for a reference, so before the question is answered there is already a reference committed. As such no reference is created.
Am I right in assuming that this is the reason my reference determination does not work?
What can I do to get my reference determination to overwrite an already committed reference?

Hi Abel,

We’ve just discussed this - you want to use ‘kenteken’ in the reference of an object, but when creating the object, the kenteken is not yet set as an answer and therefor not available yet to set the reference - the reference is set before the questions are answered, so if a reference determination includes answers to questions, it will - at this moment - not take those into account.

We’ve talked about 2 possibilities to solve this:

  • Since you mentioned that eventually all data will be imported based in a big file with all data, you could set the reference by using whatever fields are available in your file - including ‘kenteken’. Remember to include the situations where this kenteken is not available.
  • See if we could make the reference overwriteable at some point to include the answer to the question. This could be done with f.i. an event trigger (a possibility would be to have the (first?) answer to ‘kenteken’ trigger an overwrite of the reference).

If you need any help, don’t hesitate to ask.
