When setting up a server to host a Novulo application, what server specifications are recommended/suggested/mandatory?

We recommend the following guidelines that are highly dependent on the specs of your application.

CPU:

  • 5-20 concurrent users, or less users but with website: 4 CPU’s
  • 20-50 of intensive use: 8 CPU’s. For applications with ERP this is the recommended minimum
  • .>50: consider whether 2-server-setup might be more suitable

Memory:

  • Practically empty database (customer without conversion): 3 GB
  • < 3 GB database: 4 GB
  • 3-8 GB database: 6 GB
  • .>8 GB database: 8 GB (further expansion may be needed depending on how intensively all data are used). For applications with ERP this is the recommended minimum

Disk space:

  • Space for the OS is included. The purchased space is for the data disk.
  • Required space = database size x factor + file size + 5 GB, rounded up to the nearest multiple of 50 GB.
  • If you want to keep the backup longer than the same workday during an update, the ‘factor’ is 3; otherwise, it is 2.
