Printing packing slips in a batch is used to print packing slips for routes to be driven in the correct order for the relevant day.
You can also use this method to print packing slips for goods picked up at a branch on a given day.

Set up
You can create one or more Packing Slip batch definitions. A packing slip batch can be printed from a batch definition. For each created batch, you can see which deliveries and corresponding packing slip (activity) have been created. Any errors are also logged.
You can create a delivery list from a packing slip batch. This is a list of all deliveries included in the batch. This delivery list can be used to have the recipient sign for receipt.
For a packing slip batch definition, you can specify on which printer the printing should take place. You can also specify which packing slip template is used.
If you do not configure a printer in the packing slip batch definition, the printer to be used is derived from the ‘Printer Determination Standard’ rules.
The printers use Printnode and must be configured correctly.
It is important that a Document Type Related Action Preference is defined for the Owner of the department (branch) for whom the packing slips are printed, with the Customer checkbox unchecked and ‘Print document’ enabled.
Configure
Printers
You can find the Print Node printers under Management –Print Node printers. The printers to be used must be visible here in order to print packing slips. The ‘Refresh list’ function retrieves the printers that can be used via Print Node.
You can turn a selected Printnode printer into a Novulo printer.
For a Novulo Printer, you can enter the Organization and the department (branch). Department is a mandatory field there. Department is used to determine the correct printer for a document to be printed.

A packing slip template must be created under ‘Settings – Activity templates’.
Packing slip batch definitions
You can define batches under ‘Settings – Packing slip batch definitions’.
A batch definition has a Name, an optional Printer on which the packing slips must be printed, an Activity template (the packing slip template to be used), an Expression to indicate which deliveries are eligible and in what order they should be sorted, and a Comments field to record any changes to the Expression.
The expression is an example of an expression as used by an organzation using the Novulo application. The packing slip batch lines part is necessary to prevent you from failing to include packing slips that have already been printed if you print the batch multiple times in a row.
Document type related action preferences (DTRAP)
To be able to print packing slips, a DTRAP record must be defined for the Department owners (locations). These are created from the contact page using the + button above the grid Document type related action preferences
The contact(1) is automatically filled in. The Customer checkbox (2) is ‘off’ because this DTRAP does not relate to a customer but to the owner organization. This is a definition for a packing slip (3). It must be printed (4). This means that only PDF files (5) are printed.
Scheduled task
To have the created packing slip batch definition run automatically at a set time, a scheduled task must be defined.
The process used for this is ‘Package slip batch definition – Print packing slips’. You add this under Settings – Process action definitions
Then you create the scheduled task under Settings – Scheduled tasks
Enter the description (1). Choose Task type=call process (2). Click on process in Task arguments (3). Set the correct process just defined (4). Indicate which batch definition should be used (5). Set the timeout to 5 mins (5*60*1000)=300,000 msec (6). The culture to nl-NL (7) and the queueingpolicy=SameScheduledTask:skip(8)
Enter the correct Schedule
To be executed at 5 o’clock on working days.
Then select the Register button.
When used
When a packing slip batch definition is executed, a packing slip batch record is created containing packing slip batch lines.
So that you gain insight into which packing slips have been printed. Any errors are also logged in an application log tab on the relevant packing slip batch.
If a packing slip has been created from a packing slip batch definition, this is also visible on the delivery (1).
Once a packing slip has been finalized, you can create a new one using the ‘Create another packing slip’ button (without printing it) (1)
If you want to print a packing slip that has already been created, open the relevant activity (2)
Then in the ‘Activity related actions’ the print command (1)
Uncheck the ‘has been executed’ box there and then select the ‘Execute now’ button.The print will then be executed again.
