Succesful update installation stuck in cleanup workflow

So a few weeks ago I updated my application. I followed all the normal steps of completing the update. After pressing the “keep update” button in the installer I never looked back on it because everything said it was finished. Now I try to update the app again and I got the message there was still an update not finished.

When I opened the update it said it was waiting for the installation to finish.

So naturally I opened the installer to look if there was something I missed. But the strange thing was that there was nothing going on.

I tried looking into both workflows. The workflow “[Installer]Installation and Update of package - 2/11/2025 10:00:22 AM” didn’t have anything open. Then I noticed the other workflow to be of 20-2-2025 instead of 11-2-2025. I don’t remember doing anything with the installer back then. When I opened that workflow it said there was an error.

I’ve heard somebody say it probably has something to do with a security thing. I don’t know how to fix this. The app has been functional for all this time so I didn’t notice anything. Could somebody help me or explain how I’m able to fix this?

@Helena, could you help? I assume it is related: Deployment issue: 'Cannot establish secure connection' - #2 by Helena

Yes you were very unlucky here.

  • On the 20th you clicked the Keep this update = yes button. Then this workflow ran into the SSL issue.
  • On the 27th you noticed this and clicked retry which solved the SSL problem, but for some reason we had a lot of installations finishing on the 27th that didn’t trigger the deployment workflow. I tried to solve them manually, but I guess I missed this one. This second issue has so far only occured on the 27th of february and we have not seen it happen since.

For future reference: I did fix it by clicking edit + ok at the installation to trigger the workflow.
